Increasing Website Traffic
Every website owner would like more visitors. No matter how
much traffic a website is currently receiving, most site owners
would like more. This is especially true for small websites
where the amount of daily visitors is just a tiny trickle.
There are basically 6 ways that a potential visitor can find
your website. First, he can directly type your site's URL into
his web browser. Second, he can follow a referral link from
another website. Third, he could follow a referral link
contained in and email. Fourth, he could follow a viral link
contained in an eBook, press release, or video. Fifth, he could
follow a paid link from one of the pay per click (ppc)
advertising sources. And finally, he could find your website by
using a search engine.
It is the final method in the above list that this site focuses
on. Getting increased traffic from the search engines isn't
particularly difficult. It basically comes down to a matter of
giving the search engines what they are looking for while at the
same time giving your website visitors exactly what they are
looking for.
If you expect people to visit your website then you had
better deliver relevant information to them or they will leave
and never return. Failure to deliver information that your
visitors are seeking will cause them to abandon your site
because they don't have confidence they'll find what they're
looking for.
It turns out that this evaluation process isn't just for people.
It's the same process that Google is trying to duplicate with
its algorithms when calculating the relevance of your page and
determining how relevant your page is to a search query
performed by one of Google's visitors. Above all else, Google
wants to please its customers. Every business that wants to be
successful simply must please its customers. That is such a
foundational principle in business: please your customers and
they will return over and over and over. Fail to please your
customers and they will all go away, never to return again.
Google knows this principle well. And when Google lists your
website in their search results pages, they are in effect
sending their customers to your site. That visitor is
Google's customer. Google has to be 100% certain that you
please its customers. Failure to do so will mean that your site
will no longer be displayed in Google's search results.
Think about it. Would you send any of your customers
anywhere that they would not be pleased? If you sent them to a
place that they were not happy with, how would that reflect on
you? Would they remain your customer? It is the same with
Google. They want to send their customers to sites that actually
please their customers and not abuse or trick them in any way
whatsoever. That is the key to getting to the top of Google's
search results. In everything that you do with your website,
remember to do it with this over-riding foundational principle
as your goal: please your visitors who are also Google's
customers. Your happy visitors will make Google happy, and
you'll get better positions in Google's search results pages.
You are happy, Google is happy, and the visitors are happy.
That's the ultimate goal. That's the underlying principle to
getting increased website traffic from the search engines, and
especially Google. However, we don't want to just tell you to
please your visitors and Google and then send you on your way.
Your question would likely be "How?" This would likely be
followed up with, "Can you give me some specific examples and
instructions?" The answer is yes. Within the pages of this
website we will tell you how and we will give specifics so that
you too can get to the front page of Google and experience
greatly increased website traffic.
